Ahmedabad’s Seventh Day School Tragedy: Crime Branch Takes Major Step Against School Management
A shocking incident at Seventh Day Adventist School in Ahmedabad has shaken parents, students, and the entire city. The Crime Branch is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the tragic case where a Class 8 student lost his life after being attacked by a Class 10 student.
According to reports, the conflict started over a minor scuffle between the two students, but it escalated when the Class 10 student allegedly attacked the younger student with a sharp object. Sadly, the Class 8 student succumbed to his injuries, leading to anger and chaos in the Maninagar area of Ahmedabad.
School Management Under Scanner
The Crime Branch has obtained CCTV footage from the school campus, which reveals serious negligence by the school administration.
Two major lapses have come to light:
- The injured student did not receive immediate medical aid or assistance from school authorities, despite being inside the campus.
- The administration is being accused of trying to tamper with or destroy crucial evidence related to the incident.
Due to these findings, the Crime Branch is now preparing to seek court approval to register a formal complaint against the school management. If filed, this will be the third official FIR related to the incident.
Complaints Registered So Far
- The first FIR was filed regarding the murder of the student.
- The second FIR was lodged by the school administration against a mob that attacked the school campus after the incident.
- The third FIR is likely to be filed against the school authorities for negligence and evidence destruction.
Parents in Fear, Administration Missing
Since the day of the tragedy, the school management has been absent and has not taken responsibility. The entire campus is now under police control, while parents remain deeply concerned about their children’s safety.
Shockingly, the school failed to report the incident either to the District Education Officer (DEO) or the police authorities in time. Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the student’s death, a mob of over 500 people vandalized the school premises, causing an estimated damage of ₹15 lakh, according to a complaint filed by the school’s administrator, Mayurika Patel.
Several eyewitness students also revealed that the injured boy ran inside the campus seeking help, but teachers and guards failed to assist him. Ultimately, it was his friend who rushed him to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw, but the boy could not survive.
This horrifying event raises serious questions about student safety, accountability of schools, and the role of administration during emergencies. The city now awaits further legal action as the Crime Branch proceeds with its case against the school authorities.
