UAE Introduces Special Award to Celebrate Arabic Content Creators Across AI, Film, Podcasts and More
Sharjah Media City (Shams) has launched a new initiative called the “Shams Award for Arabic Content”, designed to recognise and celebrate outstanding Arabic content creators across multiple creative disciplines. The award aims to uplift Arab creativity with a modern vision, spotlighting excellence in fields ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) and filmmaking to podcasting, performance, and scriptwriting.
This move aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who has consistently advocated for innovation, cultural empowerment, and global recognition of Arab content creators.
🔹 Eight Categories Celebrating Diverse Creative Talents
The Shams Award 2025 offers recognition in eight distinct categories, covering both traditional media formats and emerging technologies:
- Best Short Film – Celebrating powerful storytelling, direction, and cultural resonance.
- Best AI Video – Honouring innovation in AI-driven video creation.
- Best Content Creator – Recognising impactful and original Arabic digital creators.
- Best Arabic Podcast – Highlighting excellence in audio storytelling and engagement.
- Best Film Script – Awarding originality and quality in unproduced Arabic film scripts.
- Best Series Script – Celebrating engaging and creative unproduced TV series scripts.
- Best Actress of 2025 – Acknowledging the most authentic female performances.
- Best Actor of 2025 – Recognising outstanding male acting talent in Arab cinema and TV.
These categories reflect Shams’ mission to foster inclusivity, innovation, and creative diversity across the Arabic media landscape.
🔹 Transparent & Professional Judging
All entries must be submitted online before 31st October 2025. Each submission will be evaluated based on originality, innovation, cultural influence, artistic execution, and alignment with positive values.
To ensure credibility, specialised judging committees made up of experts from media, creative industries, and performing arts will oversee the process. This transparent evaluation ensures that winners represent both local relevance and international standards of excellence.
